Mustahil Timbalan Menteri Pelajaran, Dr. Wee Ka Siong baru-baru ini berkata, adalah mustahil Dawama boleh mengalami kerugian kerana jualan buku teks sekolah menerusi kontrak dengan Kementerian Pelajaran adalah besar dan terjamin. Ini diperkuatkan lagi dengan dakwaan gaji pengurusan kanan terlalu tinggi, hingga hampir sama syarikat minyak. Jadi apa sebenarnya masalah Dawama hingga kelihatan hampir muflis? Adakah disebabkan kelemahan urus tadbir hingga menyebabkan kerugian? Atau memang untung tetapi tidak mahu berkongsi dengan pekerja bawahan? Isu Dawama cukup memalukan. Ini memperlihatkan kegagalan sebuah syarikat Melayu yang diberi kontrak oleh kerajaan dan tidak bersaing dengan syarikat lain, tetapi akhirnya gagal. Sekarang semua orang mahu tahu dengan pembayaran RM650 juta sejak 2002 kepada Dawama, apa yang dibelanjakan hingga syarikat hampir muflis? Kontrak pracetak dan percetakan buku DBP perlu dikerjakan oleh syarikat yang bukan sahaja mempunyai kewangan yang kukuh tetapi berwibawa. Dawama diwujudkan untuk mendapat kontrak ini dan belum teruji sebagai syarikat penerbitan atau percetakan yang berpengalaman. |
