| Seven more reports against assemblyman insulting Sultan Posted: 05 Jan 2011 11:05 AM PST 2011-01-05 11:49 KLANG, Tuesday 4 January 2011 (Bernama) -- Seven more police reports have been lodged over a statement by Selangor's Seri Muda state assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafiei on his blog which allegedly insulted the Sultan of Selangor. Three of the reports were made by Umno Youth, MCA and the MIC Kota Raja Division while the other four were made by non-governmental organisations, Persatuan Bugis Selangor, the Klang Branch of Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa), Gabungan Anti-Penyelewengan Selangor (GAPS) and Pusat Komuniti Andalas. Kota Raja Barisan Nasional Youth chief Nur Azman Anuarul Perai said the statement by Shuhaimi on his blog, http://srimuda.blogspot.com, portrayed Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah as having acted indiscriminately without regard for constitutional convention when consenting to the appointment of Datuk Mohd Khusrin Munawi as the new Selangor state secretary. "I believe Shuhaimi made the statement with the intention to incite hatred in the people and give a negative perception of the institution of Malay Rulers, which can undermine national security and public order," he told reporters before lodging a police report at the Klang Selatan police headquarters, here. Persatuan Bugis Selangor Chairman Raja Ahmad Raja Datuk Abdul Wahid said the Selangor government's questioning of Mohd Khusrin as the state secretary was tantamount to treason.  |
| Report lodged over insult to Sultan Posted: 05 Jan 2011 11:00 AM PST The Malay Mail http://mmail.com.my/content/59779-report-lodged-over-insult-sultan THASHA JAYAMANOGARAN Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 13:53:00 KLANG: The Selangor Bugis Association (SBA), Kota Raja Barisan Nasional Youth and Perkasa today lodged a police report against Sri Muda assemblyman Suhaimi Shafei for allegedly insulting the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. The police report was made at the district police station here against Suhaimi for allegedly threatening, condemning, spreading rumours and having other negative intentions against the Sultan. The report was lodged by SBA president Raja Ahmad Raja Abdul Wahid, Perkasa president Abu Bakar Yahya and Kota Raja BN Youth chief Nur Azman Anuarul Prai. Suhaimi had in his blog (http:// srimuda.blogspot.com) portrayed the Sultan to be unfair and acting according to his own whims and fancies without adhering to conventions.Suhaimi also allegedly labelled the Sultan to be an egoist. Raja Ahmad said Suhaimi's blog posting was trying to make the people of Selangor hate the Sultan. "We also feel that Suhaimi's motive is to stir public anger and shed a negative perception of the Malay Rulers," he added. "If action is not taken immediately, Suhaimi's actions would cause dispute among the public and the people, too, will not respect the royal institution"We also hope the police will take immediate action before things get out of hand and make sure this doesn't repeat itself."  |
